The cosy main resort of Alpbach (1,000 m), was declared the "loveliest village in Austria" in the 1980s and was voted "best small skiing village in Europe" in 2004. The village lies in the inner Alpbach Valley on a sunny plateau with a heavenly view and direct access to the ski area at the Wiedersberger Horn. As Inneralpbach forms the head of the valley, peace and tranquility reigns here, without disturbing traffic. Alpbach entices its guests with its historic ambience and a whole lot of recreational activities, such as tobogganing or winter hiking. The splendid guesthouses promise a hearty atmosphere before you even set foot inside them.
