The lovely resort Mörtschach is situated at an altitude of 950 m, between the imposing Großglockner Massive, the Lienz Dolomites, the Schober Massif and the Kreuzeck Massif. You can either relax and gather your strength or go on an exploratory tour in the heart of the natural surroundings. With a total area of approx. 1,834 km², the Hohe Tauern National Park is the largest nature preserve in the Alps and includes impressive glaciers and rock faces. There are also many interesting day trip destinations near Mörtschach, e.g. the church in Heiligenblut, the Franz-Josefs-Höhe, the Asterner Moor or the charming small town of Lienz, with its numerous shopping opportunities.
