In the foreground of the enchanting scenery of the Hohen Tauern, at the foot of the Großvenediger Massif (3,674 m) is Neukirchen, the second-largest resort in Oberpinzgau at 856 m. The centuries-old and exemplarily maintained village image has received many honors, national and international. Austria's highest mountains make up unbeatable scenery for the idyllically located resort, which offers its guests a seemingly inexhaustible fill of delicacies. Holiday comfort, diverse sports, and a varied cultural programme allow for both relaxation and entertainment. Alongside the far-reaching cross-country trails, the varied and family-friendly ski area at the Wildkogel draws in guests. An anual highlight is the Wildkogel Long-trail in January, during which about 60 dog-sledges head to the start. Winter hiking, tobogganing, and horse-sledge rides are also great opportunities to enjoy the incredible snowy winter landscape.
