Colorado:
The largest and most well-known ski areas in North America are found in Colorado. Skiing at 4,000 m above sea level – no problem in Colorado. With 300 days of sun per year and an average snowfall of over 8.5 m, skiing becomes a true experience. Thanks to the large ski areas and fast lifts, waiting times at the lifts is short or there is hardly any crowding on the slopes.

California:
When thinking of California, one thinks more of sun, beach, and surfboard and less about mountains, snow, and winter fun. But that is just what you can find on Mammoth Mountain and on Lake Tahoe. The region around Lake Tahoe counts among the most popular winter sports areas in the USA and even offers the highest concentration of ski and snowboard resorts in all of North America. The breath-taking Sierra Nevada Mountains, the most snow-rich area in the USA with an average annual snowfall of 10 m, as well as 250 days of sun, offer a spectacular backdrop for an absolute top-class winter experience.

Culture

The USA can only look back on a short history. After its discovery by Columbus, America was quickly settled by Europeans. The influence of various cultures is visible in nearly every North American city. There are areas which are primarily inhabited by Italians, South and Central Americans, Irish, Asians or Germans. However the culture also has Indian and African Americans influence. There is no other country where so many different cultures live together.

At the beginning of the 20th Century, the USA became the largest and most powerful economical power and continues to grow today. America is home to many of the best athletes, and popular national sports include basketball, baseball and American football. And no American would miss the Super Bowl on the first Sunday in February, showing the country's strong patriotism! The Stars and Stripes can be found on nearly every building. Family and religion also highly valued, with traditions such as Thanksgiving and Halloween being fondly cherished.
