Carinthia:
Carinthia doesn’t just offer sun-spoilt, excellently prepared pistes, but is also ideal for excursions off the slopes. With over 200 lakes, Carinthia is a perfect starting point for winter hikes, cross-country tours and ice skating. With famous ski areas such as Nassfeld, Bad Kleinkirchheim, Mölltaler Gletscher and Heiligenblut, Austria’s southern-most state leaves no wish unfulfilled.

Salzburger Land:
In addition to the Salzburg Sports World, you'll find the holiday region Zell am See/Kaprun, and the 3000 m high Kitzsteinhorn with its own glacier.

Steiermark:
Steiermark, with its well-known ski areas Schladming and Dachstein-Tauern offer great world-class runs and resorts distinguished by tranquility and cosiness.

Tyrol:
Austria's "ski heart" beats quite audibly between Arlberg and the Kitzbüheler Alps: it is clear why Tyrol is called the "heart of the Alps". There you will find well-known "celebrities" like Kitzbühel, and the Arlberg ski resorts Lech, Zürs and St. Anton.

Cross country

Austria offers its winter sports guests not only Alpine fun, but also gets the hearts of the cross country skiers beating a little faster. The majority of the ski areas offer well prepared and well marked tracks. Regardless if you are a beginner or expert: there is something for everyone. Relax and enjoy yourself on a leisurely roving track around an incredibly lovely winter landscape. The distance from the tracks to the next cosy ski lodge is usually not far. For ambitious racers there is a plentiful selection of paths. And, for those who have not had enough during the day, try out the flood lit tracks in the evening.

The cross country skiing season in some areas is quite expansive. In the Stubai Valley the season begins at the start of November and end in May. On the valley floor of Neustift there a well prepared tracks to take a round on. Nearby, the Maria Waldrast plateau is a real paradise for cross country skiers. With its Kaser track, the Serles track and the beginners track there is a possibility in every level of difficulty.

The Kaiservwinkl is much liked by cross country skiers. One high point is the the year round Kaiser run, a cross country track for everyone. The SkiWelt Kider Kaiser is located not too far away. Here you will find the agony of choice: in this region there are 180 km of the best prepared tracks.

An additional large network of tracks is located in the Achensee region. A special recommendation is the track from Pertisau to Falzthurntal with its impressive Karwendels scenery.
