Bernau im Schwarzwald: Cross-country skiing

Cross-country has a long history in the Black Forest, which therefore provides you with a diverse arrangement of skiing possibilities. Bernau is home to a well-preserved cross-country centre which also provides courses for both beginners and experts. About 50 km of tracks stretch out through the surrounding area, spread out over nine trails. Seven of the trails start directly in the centre.

Beginners can make their way along the short training trail (500 m) in either classic or skating styles. The Taubenmoos trail is just as easy to manage with an over 2.5 km length with open areas and forested areas. Furthermore, the Hof trail (2.7 km, starting in Hof) and the Lehen trail (4 km, starting in Innerlehen) are also well recommended for beginners. More challenging trails include the sunny Hexenbühl trail (3.5 km), the Rechberg trail (5.5 km), the Oren trail (6 km) and the Langhalden trail (11 km). Even a FIS trail, with 3.5 km length, is available for demanding skiers.
